CCSD59 Accepting Applications for Board of Education Following Board Member Resignation
Community Consolidated School District 59 (CCSD59) Board of Education member Sharon Roberts resigned her position on the CCSD59 Board of Education effective January 10, 2020, the board announced on Monday.
Regarding her resignation, Roberts shared, “I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity to have served on the CCSD59 Board of Education. After serving for nearly 15 years, it is time to step away to focus on family and the increased travel to meet my family’s needs. There are also life experiences that my husband and I have planned, and we look forward to the time ahead to travel together.”
Roberts served on the board since 2005, most recently acting as Secretary since April 2019. She also previously held the office of President and Vice President. She contributed to many committees during her time on the board, including Behavioral Intervention, Board Policy, Communications, Curriculum Resources, Insurance and Employee Wellness, Strategic Planning, and Transportation.
Her other contributions across the district include serving on the NSSEO board, being a founding member of the D59 Education Foundation, and former President of the Robert Frost Parent Teacher Organization.
CCSD59 will immediately accept applications to appoint a new member to serve out the remainder of the term, which expires in April 2021. Applications are due in the CCSD59 Superintendent’s office, located at 1001 Leicester Road in Elk Grove Village, by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 31, 2020.
