After conferences we began an SEL series that will be displayed on my office door and window front that students and teachers can use to stimulate conversations and SEL activities at school.  The series is based on the skills outlined in, Skillstreaming the Elementary School Child: A Guide for Teaching Prosocial Skills, named, “Skills for Dealing with Feelings”.

Every two weeks my display will change and will include a guiding question for students to reflect on, the social skill we are learning, steps needed to master the skill and additional resources for teachers. I am also very excited to unveil my new spotlight display on my door in which teachers and students are welcome to send me pictures of how they are putting social emotional learning in action in their classrooms! Please see the pictures from the current display which includes highlights from Mrs. Colloton and Mrs. Ciura’s recent SEL activities.
